The Safe Haven Pod

Introducing Appletree’s “Safe Haven Pod”; a fully accessible, bespoke timber building, providing a safe, outside visiting space for residents and patients to spend time with their families and friends.

A fully insulated building with two areas, divided by an internal wall with a laminated, toughened glass partition, meaning visitors can see, speak, and spend time with each other, without the concern of passing any germs or bacteria. A hands-free intercom system can be installed to ensure both sides of the Pod can speak to and hear each other clearly.

The building features two entrances – one at each end of the building – accessed by non-slip ramps with handrails for wheelchair users and those who are unsteady on their feet or unable to manage stairs. With windows in each section of the Pod, which can be opened on warmer days providing a cool breeze and ventilation, bring a wealth of natural light into the space. For winter visiting, the Pods can be upgraded to feature electric convection heaters in each section, helping to keep all users warm and comfortable during their visiting time.

The central partition can be sealed to the roof or the eaves can be left open to allow for further ventilation and circulation of air. We can also remove the glass partition at a future date turning the Pod into a functional Summerhouse or Garden Room, meaning it is a futureproof, multi-use space, and a truly worthwhile investment for your business.
